Dr. Mohan Darekar

Dr. Mohan Darekar learnt for more than fifteen years from the illustrious vocalist and composer Jitendra Abhisheki. He was later guided by Dr. Vikas Kashalkar. He is currently studying under the noted Banaras gharana vocalists Rajan and Sajan Mishra. Dr. Darekar has also studied dhrupad and dhamar from Sayeeduddin Dagar.

A grade A artiste of the All India Radio, Dr. Darekar also received a scholarship from the Government of India and the Girijabai Kelekar scholarship from Goa. He has performed in India and abroad.

Dr. Darekar is on the panel of advisors for the doctoral degree of the Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal, Mumbai, and conducts master classes under the aegis of the Department of Music, Pune University.

He trains several students from India and overseas and is the Founder President of Swaranjali, a charitable institution.
