Description

Shubh Deepavali is an exclusive collection of six temple texts on the theme of Divali and the various rituals associated with it. Set to music and rendered by vocalist Shubha Mudgal, these compositions borrow from both folk music and North Indian art music forms like khayal and thumri. Beginning with an appropriate verse for Dhanteras, also known as Dhantrayodashi, the collection also includes descriptions of Chhoti Divali, the oil lamps and illuminations that mark the celebration of Divali, and even the practice of playing dice.
