Disrupted Divas is a documentary that highlights the lives and music of several socially marginalized women performers in North India who are part of the community known as tawaifs. The film seeks to show how these women, by definition, are divas, in spite of the various disruptions they encountered which have made access to the mainstream diva identity very difficult for them to attain.
