This MP3 album is a compilation of compositions in raags Yaman, Bihag and Bhairavi. Rendered by eminent scholar-musician and author Dr. Ashok Da. Ranade, this is the first full-length album of the artiste whose books are widely read by students and scholars in the filed of music.

The artiste has highlighted the features of the raags and has prefaced each composition with explanations about their musical and poetic nuances. The compositions are set to a variety of taals like Jhumra, Ektaal, Teentaal, Rupak, Addhataal, Jhaptaal, Deepchandi, Dadra, and cover forms like khayal, bandish ki thumri, bol banaav ki thumri, tarana and tappa.

The album is accompanied with a booklet containing photographs and a detailed note by the artiste on his musical journey. The booklet also contains complete texts of all the compositions in Devnagari script.
