Anuradha Kuber, a young vocalist from Pune, was trained for fifteen years by T.D. Janorikar, eminent vocalist of the Bhendi Bazaar gharana. She also had the opportunity to learn from him for two years at the Sangeet Research Academy, Kolkata. Currently she is receiving training from well-known harmonium player Dr. Arawind Thatte. Anuradha Kuber has presented concerts featuring khayal and thumri-dadra at several concert venues across the country. She also has commercial recordings to her credit. Her musical work extends to areas other than art music, chiefly those related to Marathi non-film popular music. She has also participated in thematic concerts presented by composer Chaitanya Kunte. She has been the recipient of many awards like Dattopant Deshpande Puraskar (awarded at Sawai Gandharva Sangeet Mahotsava, Pune), and Gaanhira Award, Paingankar Puraskar,C. Ramachandra Award and Smt. Mokashi Award for having topped the Master’s degree examinations in music from S.N.D.T. University, Mumbai. She has also received a Government of India scholarship for two years awarded by H.R.D. Ministry, Delhi, and the Junior Research Fellowship awarded by the University Grants Commission among others. Anuradha Kuber is also academically qualified with a Bachelor’s degree in the Arts Faculty, and a Master’s degree in music from the SNDT University, Mumbai. She is currently pursuing her doctoral studies. She also topped the advanced diploma course examinations in French from Alliance Francaise, Pune.
