Born in a family of musicians, Pallavi started her training at the age of five from her grandfather, Gajananbuwa Joshi. She learned the styles of Gwalior, Jaipur and Agra gharanas from him. After the demise of Gajananbuwa Joshi, she is under the tutelage of Madhukarbuwa Joshi.
She has been awarded a scholarship for Hindustani classical vocal music by the Government of India. She also holds a Masters degree in Management Studies.
