Saeeda Begum

Saeeda Begum, about 30, belongs to the Mirasi community and lives in the town of Shahkot, near Jullundhur. She started learning classical music under her father from a very young age. Her repertoire includes folk songs, especially songs for festive occasions like marriages, Sufi poetry and kissa sahitya. She performs regularly on invitation at festivals and marriages. Besides, she is also passionate about singing Hindustani khayal gayaki.
